(June 8) I arrived in Bandung at 5:45 a.m. I just took a walk around town to check out the Art Deco buildings all over town. Gedung Merdeka hosted the Asia-Africa Conference in the 1950s. I then took a train back to Jakarta which offered me great views of rice terraces and rural Indonesia. The houses on the terraces, both old and new, all had clay tile roofs which made the scene really charming. I hope they use cogon/nipa to cover the roofs of the new houses they are constructing in our own Ifugao Rice Terraces in prder to preserve the landscape.
Hey bro! did you do any shopping in bandung? it's fantastic there! While you're in Indo, eat some Sop Buntut Goreng and bring back some emping and krupuk for me!
