for everyone
We left Banaue today. Before leaving, we listened to Ifugao Governor Teddy Baguilat. Our last stopover was at Dupax del Sur to check out the church which is a National Cultural Treasure.

I'm happy to see that they were able to preserve this.

What a wonderful vista! So glad the grass plaza is still there and hasn't been cemented over.

It was taken from the rooftop of the new building of the municipal government. The only thing I didn't like was that hideous looking belen they placed in front of the church.

This was recently restored by the National Museum funded by the US Ambassador's Fund.

It's a good thing that they got rid of the heavy layer of white paint.

So glad to know that! Finally the Americans got something right over there. Hehehe. Hey, they are responsible for quite a lot of the destruction on our churches back in Spanish American War and WWII :D

Oh, so that's what that boxy looking structure must've been. Oh, well it is the season. Merry Christmas Ivan! :D

I wonder if this was all white during the Spanish period. Yeah, our architectural heritage paid a heavy price from that strategy of total destruction.

I'd imagine that its either bare or polychromed originally. But, just to see it still existing and haven't been gold leafed to death (hahaha) makes me happey.

Wow! Our Bambang and Bagabag Catholic Churches in Nueva Vizcaya are lookers too.. Same is true with the Bayombong Cathedral... circa 1500-1700 mga ito.. Although, the Cathedral's belltower was destroyed by the July 16,1990 eathquake...

Brod, isn't the Bayombong facade covered by new bricks? I don't remember seeing Bambang and Bagabag though.
